During the Christmas Break I began building the Takom FV-432 Bulldog mainly as I have to spray in the garage and its to cold without the heating on plus I needed a break from the ZIl and I didn't fancy all the faffing about.
Having purchased many Takom kits which so far have all been consigned to the stash this is my first Takom build, so opening the box all parts are clearly labelled on the sprues being well protected re sealable bags.
As you would expect construction begins with the lower hull and running gear.

I found the location points for the swing arms to be soft and struggled holding them in place while gluing, thank goodness for Tamiya thin.

Takom supply a useful jig for aligning the suspension arms this will also be used to aid construction of the tracks.

After a couple of unsuccessful attempts using the jig I decided to assemble the tracks the old fashioned way, the tracks are supplied in measured lengths but both sides on my build required one link to be removed.

Cocktail sticks were used to aid correct location and sag.

Once the running gear is complete the next three stages deal with the hull sides and rear ,there are 6 holes to be drilled on the rear vertical take care as 4 are 0.8mm and 2 are 0.1mm
It was at this point I decided to go off peast , the instructions suggest you build the front glacis plate and roof armour of the kit then final fitting later.
being from an engineering back ground I could foresee alignment issues plus the opportunity to knock parts off or break certain items
my decision was to finish the basic hull and fit the additional armour after, wright or wrong we'll soon see !!!

Another item to watch out for is the extremely heavy flash found on the ejector pin marks, not up to Tamiya standards this kit !!!

Where did this come form? I missed this somehow.....

I do like to see how other people use different tools to help with alignments etc. This is going to be another of you gems in the making I am certian.

Progressing slowly, so many small parts to fit and one must be mindful off the re paint build sequence
