Hi Everybody
Have you ever seen a tool or modelling gadget that you didn't know you needed till you spotted it ??? i recently been combing the japanese and chinese shops/sites for new tools and spotted this on a gundam forum
Now the current state of our Country's finances means they are taxing everything imported into the uk hence i decided to make my own and maybe make one more suited to what i need.
So my first stop is ebay to find off cuts of correx, its like a corrugated plastic sheet easily cut with a stanley knife and i found 8 sheets of A4 for a Tenner. Next up i ordered 10mm thick motorcycle race seat foam to hold the sprues and hopefully all the different sprue sizes in AFV kits.
The Correx can be glued with a hot melt glue gun so i ordered a pack of sticks as they seem to go so quick, if you have struggled with hot glue guns theres some great youtube sites with tips and tricks.

You can see here i have fitted the foam strips and left a 4mm gap between each strip for each sprue to fit, the foam is self-adhesive and grabs as soon as you fit it so you have to make sure first time it fits where you want it.
once the holder was altogether i added a piece of scrap MDF to give some weight to the base.
And here is finished article...with 3 lots of M113 kits.

Well done Steve, an excellent job of construction and also the build log is nice and easy to follow, with great photos. If you are not too overprotective of your sources maybe share the links?????

Hi Clive
if you mean links to shops i dont mind sharing lol.. but the only shop i used to use was model space in china but they seem to have closed down now. i think the big exporters like trumpy etc are controlling who they sell to as they have there own on-line exporters now, so the only one i rely on in the Eastern hemisphere is bna model world in Australia. They have gundam detail parts and tools too.
